Crank up the volume, pull your air guitar out and fluff your mullet: Bogan Villea is ready to tear the night up with a rip-roaring night of rock, drag and Blak pride.
The alter ego of First Nations LGBTIQ+ performing icon Ben Graetz, Bogan Villea is the lovechild of Barnesy, Farnesy and Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. With guest performances from some of Australia’s finest singers, dancers, and drag artists, A Night of Rock and Roll with Bogan Villea is what would’ve happened if AC/DC had ridden their flatbed truck from Lygon Street all the way to Darwin and picked Divine up along the way.
Since following his passion from his childhood in Darwin to Sydney, Ben Graetz has blazed trails for First Nations and LGBTQIA+ artists in music, drag and the performing arts. The founder of First Nations arts festival Garrmalang, drag competition Miss First Nation and First Nations-owned BRG Productions, Graetz returns to the spotlight for a night Bon Scott wouldn’t remember.
★★★★★ “Graetz has created the ultimate drag show. But it isn’t just a drag show. It’s also a concert, a cabaret and a variety show”
ARTSHUB, ON TINA: A TROPICAL LOVE STORY
“From bogan essentials to more fabulous and creative costumes, Bogan Villea spread buckets of bogan charm”
