If any artist best represents the musical melting pot of South London in 2025, it’s Adeel Sardar Khan, better known as Raf-Saperra. Originally breaking out as a filmmaker, the Streatham Hill-raised firebrand found his musical spark by colliding the Punjabi folk music that shaped his early life with the hip-hop that moved the streets around him.
Blowing up with the one-two punch of UK garage throwback “N.L.S. (Nach Le Soniye)” and the grimier “Modern Mirza’’, both featured on his 2023 EP Ruff Around The Edges, Raf-Saperra has barely paused for breath. Via a standout Boiler Room showcase in London celebrating Punjabi music, the rap chameleon signed to Nas’s Mass Appeal label and this year released a bold new EP, Renaissance, featuring the bilingual banger “Ni Billo”.
Saperra’s bhangra-laced bangers have stormed dancefloors from Berghain to Glastonbury. Don’t sleep on this superstar in the making.

Raf-Saperra is at the vanguard of a cultural renaissance – UK-born and globally rooted, he merges the visceral soul of Punjabi folk with the uncompromising edge of contemporary hip-hop. His genre-defying sound, marked by raw vocal delivery and sharp lyrical presence, has carved out a lane all his own-bridging centuries-old traditions with the modern street ethos.
With an undeniable Global presence, Raf has headlined sold-out tours across the UK, USA, Canada and Australia, along with collaborating with legendary South Asian artists such as Ustaad Dildar Hussain and Sukshinder Shinda all the way to East Coast rap royalty Conway the Machine and Dave East.
