The Seymour Centre is the University of Sydney’s multi-venue performing arts centre, engaging diverse audiences through programming that celebrates great ideas and great performance. It is home to the York Theatre, Everest Theatre and Reginald Theatre.

Welcoming over 250,000 visitors each year, the Seymour produces and presents major performances from local and international artists, and champions learning through a comprehensive Arts Education program.

The Seymour also enlivens Sydney’s artistic life through presenting partnerships with large-scale cultural events such as Sydney Festival and Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.

Tickets 

To help minimise contact, all Seymour tickets are now delivered as e-tickets via email.  

Payment 

Please use contactless payment wherever possible. Contactless options are available at the Seymour Box Office and all food and beverage outlets. 

Personal belongings 

The Seymour does not have a cloakroom. Please only bring a small bag, able to be stored under your seat. 

Foyers

Foyers open one hour prior to the same start time of each event. Theatre doors open 10 to 15 minutes prior to the start time of each event. 

FOOD AND BEVERAGE 

Box office café

Located on the ground floor in the main foyer, the café serves an array of food and drink including tea, coffee, sandwiches, snacks, ice-creams and a premium selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic refreshments.

Opening hours: One hour prior to all events.

Everest bar

Located in the upstairs foyer, the Everest bar offers a premium selection of alcoholic and nonalcoholic refreshments and is the ideal place to enjoy a pre- or post-show drink.

Opening hours: Varies depending upon event times.


 

Getting Here

BIKE
There are bike racks in the courtyard in front of the Seymour.

CAR
The closest secure car park is the Shepherd Street multi-storey car park located on the corner of Cleveland Street and Shepherd Street in Chippendale and is accessible via Shephard Street. 

The Shepherd St car park is managed by the University of Sydney. Please call 02 9351 3336 or email the University Traffic and Parking Office for any additional information. Limited free parking is available at the University of Sydney or in the surrounding streets.

BUS
There is a bus stop outside the Seymour on City Road, with frequent services throughout the day. 

TRAIN
The Seymour is a 10-minute walk from Redfern Station via Ivy Street. From Central Station, it’s a 25-minute walk via Cleveland Street. 

ACCESS

PARKING
Access parking is located on Maze Cres within the University of Sydney and a short distance to the Seymour entrance.

WHEELCHAIR ACCESS
There is lift access to all levels of the centre and wheelchair seating is available in all venues. Patrons can stay in their wheelchair or transfer from their chair to a seat and we can reserve an adjacent seat for companions. If you require wheelchair seating, please advise Box Office when booking.

ACCESSIBLE TOILETS
Fully accessible toilets are located on the ground floor.

HEARING LOOPS
Hearing loops are available in the Everest and York Theatres, amplifying sound for specific areas of seating.  If you require hearing loop access, please advise Box Office when booking.


COMPANION CARD
The Seymour is a Companion Card affiliate. We provide Companion Card holders with a second ticket for their chosen companion at no cost. Cardholders must present their card when booking and attending a performance.
