Leichhardt Town Hall is well-served by buses and is within walking distance of nearby train and light-rail stops.
TRAIN
Take a train to a nearby station such as Petersham Station on the T2/T3 lines, then walk or catch a short bus ride into Leichhardt. The journey from the CBD to the area typically takes around 15-17 minutes.
BUS
Several bus routes stop very close to Leichhardt Town Hall—examples include routes 437, 440, 445 which stop at or near Norton St or Marion St. From the Sydney CBD you can expect a direct bus ride of about 15-20 minutes.
LIGHT RAIL
While there’s no direct light rail stop right at Leichhardt Town Hall, the nearest stop is Leichhardt North Light Rail (L1) or the Marion stop on the Inner West Light Rail line, both a short walk away.
CAR
Driving to Leichhardt Town Hall is also feasible. Access via major roads such as Parramatta Rd, City West Link or Norton St. Street parking is limited, particularly during peak times, so allow for traffic and find parking early.
PARKING
There is limited hourly metered parking on surrounding streets (Marion & Norton Sts). After 7 pm on Norton Street, parking is free. For accessible parking, there’s a public car park adjacent to the facility with a 2-hour time restriction on weekdays between 8 am-8 pm.
CYCLING
Cycling is also a viable option — Leichhardt has bike-friendly lanes and the Town Hall is accessible via Norton Street or Marion Street. Local bike racks are available and the area connects well to other cycling paths.
