Each January Sydney Festival shakes up our city with a summer festival of art, music, dance, theatre and immersive experiences. We are proud of our long history of commissioning ground-breaking new Australian art, and we're equally proud to be a great place to work, with many of the seasonal team members returning year after year.
The team, which swells to over 100 during festival season, is tight, and the environment supportive. The harbour views from our office are to die for and our coffee machine best in show.
Sydney Festival is committed to equity and inclusion. We welcome and encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, people with disability and people from the LGBTQI+ community. Sydney Festival strives to make reasonable adjustments to provide a supportive and barrier-free workplace. If you require any adjustments before or during the selection process, please mention this with your application.
Calling all writers and editors! We're looking for a meticulous, creatively driven Publications & Content Editor to join us in bringing Sydney Festival 2027 to fruition.
You'll take charge of writing and editing compelling content across our programs, brochures, event daybills, website and more – all while keeping our brand voice sharp, clear and consistent. You'll manage artist communications, oversee print production timelines, wrangle approvals and collaborate with writers, designers and internal teams to deliver high-quality content and publications.
You’re a confident communicator with a hawk’s eye for detail. You can effortlessly shift between project managing a brochure, commissioning a feature article and finessing copy for an Instagram caption – all while keeping budgets on track and timelines ticking.
You're deadline-driven, organised and thrive in a fast-paced environment where arts and ideas take centre stage. You know how to manage competing priorities and love contributing to a bold, creative campaign.
If this sounds like you, submit your CV and a one-page cover letter by email to marketing.jobs@sydneyfestival.org.au by midnight Tuesday 7 July. Early applications are encouraged and we may appoint before the closing date.

This multifaceted position involves administration, delivery of the Festival's restaurant program, stakeholder liaison, account management, and support on events and functions. It's a role that offers plenty of variety, hands on experience, and lots of fun along the way.
