Comedy
Hannah Gadsby
(Australia)
The icon who rewrote the rules of comedy is back.
You don’t know your foundation myth is happening when it’s happening. When it’s happening, it’s just happening. It takes a great deal of hindsight to look back on it and go: what happened?! That’s what’s happening here. Join your favourite slow-processing but quick-witted comedian, as they tell some of their old stories with a new perspective and see if they can’t work out what happened.
Hannah Gadsby’s 2018 Netflix special Nanette catapulted them to international acclaim, earning Emmy, Peabody, and AACTA awards while sparking global conversations about trauma, identity, and the limits of self-deprecating humour. They have since released the award-winning specials Douglas, Something Special, and Gender Agenda. In that time, Hannah has also written a New York Times Best Selling memoir (Ten Steps to Nanette), curated an exhibition with Brooklyn Museum, and featured on Netflix’s smash hit, Sex Education. Now they’re back on stage doing what they do best. Don’t miss it.
