The Cutaway
From The New York Times to Vogue, Le Monde to Variety, French trio (LA)HORDE is one of the most buzzed about art collectives in the world—and they’re heading to Sydney for the first time. Their cinematic large-scale shows and interdisciplinary practice has made waves across music, film, fashion and contemporary dance.
Sought after by pop stars around the world, and fresh from collaborations with Madonna and Spike Jonze, (LA)HORDE continues to push the boundaries of art. In one stunning whole show CROSSOVER, they challenge themselves and five leading choreographers to each braid elements of their existing work into one stunning whole. This daring, vulnerable act unravels the individual to seek the power and spectacle inherent in collective art.
Performed by eight dancers from Ballet national de Marseille, three sets of paired artists reimagine their work in a unique collaboration:
Ambitious, playful and full of surprise, CROSSOVER is a transformative remix that celebrates collaboration and showcases the best of contemporary dance.
Crossover is part of the Dance Reflections by Van Cleef and Arpels program. Discover more here.

Founded in 2013, the collective (LA)HORDE is made up of three multidisciplinary artists: Marine Brutti, Jonathan Debrouwer and Arthur Harel. Their dance practice unfolds across choreographic works, films, performances and installations.
From the very beginning, (LA)HORDE has worked with communities on the margins of mainstream culture — the septuagenarians of Void Island (2014), the visually impaired participants of Night Owl (2016), the jumpers of To Da Bone (2017), and the Georgian dancers of Ballet Iveroni in Marry Me In Bassiani (2019) — exploring the political dimensions of dance and mapping choreographic forms of uprising, both collective and solitary.
