Tex Perkins heads behind bars to embody the spirit of Johnny Cash for one special night. In a recreation of the legendary American's 1968 Folsom Prison concerts, Perkins delves into Cash's dark repertoire at the old Parramatta Gaol.
Built in the 19th century, this recently decommissioned gaol reopens for an outdoor concert in the exercise yard. Perkins is joined by his band, The Tennessee Four, and Rachael Tidd, who will reprise the vocals of June Carter.
For one memorable night in jail, rock icon Perkins lends his gravelly baritone and rugged charisma to a performance of songs from At Folsom Prison, widely considered one of the greatest live albums of all time.
