Erth (Australia)
Inspired by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds's Murder Ballads
Australian Premiere Season

Barbaric acts of murder are rife in Greek tragedy and Shakespeare. Blood and gore killing sprees pervade the cinema screen and senseless slaughters dominate the evening news. How will I kill thee? Let me count the ways.

This is the question at the heart of a dynamic new work by visual theatre magicians Erth, inspired by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds’ Murder Ballads. In a stark void inhabited by puppets and performers, director Scott Wright, writer Raimondo Cortese and choreographer Kate Champion create a world of love, lust and death.

An edgy and poetic soundtrack heightens the dark and dirty deeds while video projections plunge the audi-ence into a mysterious and strangely alluring landscape.

Strong sexual themes and violence.
