CarriageWorks opened in January 2007. CarriageWorks is a multi-venue centre focused on the creation and presentation of contemporary art and culture. There are large flexible theatre spaces (Bay 17 and Bay 20), gallery (Bay 19) and exhibition spaces, rehearsal rooms (Track 8 and Track 12) and a scenery workshop. CarriageWorks is a working hub for practitioners and audiences of the small to medium arts sector.
In 2011, Sydney Festival is presenting East London West Sydney in CarriageWorks Bay 20.
CarriageWorks has a wheelchair ramp and level access at all entrances. Level access and disabled seating available in all venues. Toilets are fully accessible.

Restaurants and Bars
CarriageWorks operates a café in the main foyer of the building, which is open seven days a week. A theatre bar is also open one hour prior to the performance.
Train - CarriageWorks is a short walk from Redfern (approx 8 minute walk), Macdonaldtown (approx 10 minute walk) or Newtown (approx 15 minute walk) train stations.
Bus - services depart from the bus stop on the corner of Codrington Street and City Road, which is a five minute walk from CarriageWorks. Buses: 422, 423, 426, 428, 370, 352.

There are bike lanes on surrounding streets and plenty of free bike racks on site.
Parking at CarriageWorks is free of charge. Enter at 229 Wilson Street, opposite Queen Street. There are about 80 car spaces on site. Follow the driveway around to the left, and then follow the signs to the car park and loading dock.
