One of the most influential composers of our time, Philip Glass breathes new life into the classic 1931 Bela Lugosi film with a live performance of his own score, rich in thrills and loaded with suspense.
Chamber provocateurs Kronos Quartet join Glass and Michael Riesman for this unique rendition of the Dracula story that is sure to delight – haunting, evocative and spookily seductive.
Old-school Dracula fans and modern day vampire groupies can attend the early evening screening as earthly mortals, or garb up in capes and faux fangs for the midnight screening. Both events take place amid the opulent grandeur of the State Theatre.
Presented by arrangement with Arts Projects Australia.
Philip Glass also appears in Philip Glass: Etudes and Other Work for Solo Piano and in conversation as part of The Scope.
Kronos Quartet also appear in Ghost Opera & A Chinese Home.
