A Cinematic Opera

Exclusively for Sydney Festival At Home, this cinematic adaptation of Francis Poulenc's monodrama in one act, based on poet-artist Jean Cocteau's libretto of the same name, charts the final and tormented telephone conversation between two soon to be ex-lovers.

Set in 1950s Sydney we witness the pulse and pace of psychological disintegration from the perspective of an unnamed woman trapped in the afterlife of love.

Performed in English by Helpmann award winning soprano Lorina Gore, adapted and directed by Matthew Barclay with musical direction by Francis Greep.

Available via Sydney Festival's AT HOME platform in January.
