Watch Wesley Enoch in conversation with The Daisy Theatre’s Ronnie BurkettBack to
Marionette master Ronnie Burkett was in Sydney in January, delivering his latest bawdy, satirical puppet show The Daisy Theatre as part of Sydney Festival.
And while Burkett was here, Festival Director Wesley Enoch got some time with the audience-favourite to get a crash course in puppetry, to find out how Burkett keeps the show fresh and engaging night after night, and how he connects so deeply with the audience using just marionettes as a medium.
“Theatre really happens in that meeting of the audience connecting emotionally, and me giving authentically, so that something is made that’s neither theirs nor mine,” Burkett says. Watch the three-minute chat above.
