Welcome to the Australian Truth and Reconciliation Tribunal we’ve never had. Artists, lawyers, leaders and activists put Australia’s colonial past and murky refugee policies on trial in this powerful piece of political theatre. You be the judge.

Each performance is different, with guests airing their experiences and the issues directly affecting their communities. Tribunal is a space where the truth can be told, connections can be made, and intimacies shared.

Directed and co-conceived by Karen Therese, artistic director of PYT I Fairfield, and featuring Afghan performer Mahdi Mohammadi and Aboriginal activist and Elder Aunty Rhonda Dixon Grovenor.

Recommended for ages 12+

This production contains images of deceased persons, as well as references to sexual acts and self-harm, which some patrons may find disturbing. This performance also uses haze.

Note: Lockout period applies.

Make a night of it! Add a Festival Feast at Kindred for just $30 (+bf) to your ticket purchase. See the full menu here.

TRIBUNAL: COMMUNITY ACTION

Seen Tribunal and feeling inspired to take action?

Come to Fairfield High School on Saturday 10 February 2018 and support the refugee and asylum seeker parents who attend the Parent’s Café. It’s a program that helps newly arrived refugee parents to get involved in the Australian school system and support their kids. The Parent’s Café is also recognised by the United Nations as one of the world's best practice enterprises for asylum seeker resettlement.

Over two hours, you’ll get to meet the Parent’s Café team, make some new friends, help out with their work in the garden, get some Iraqi cooking tips, and then be rewarded with an Iraqi feast prepared by the café crew. It’s free, but capacity is limited so you’ll need to register over here.
