Eddie Perfect wins Helpmann Award
Congratulations to Eddie Perfect for winning the Helpmann for Best Cabaret Performer with his show, Misanthropology (Sydney Festival 2011)
Sydney Festival worked closely with Perfect to deliver the show, which was a kind of twisted social autopsy, examining some of the stranger cultural rituals of our time. From inappropriate breast augmentation to self-righteous lycra-clad cyclists, Eddie claimed the midnight timeslot with a passion that well befits the salubrious surrounds of The Famous Spiegeltent.
“It’s filthy, fun and delivered with husky panache”…said the The Sun-Herald. We think so too.
We’re very proud of Eddie.
Misanthropology was written and performed by Eddie Perfect, directed by Craig Ilott and a live band of Mick Stuart on guitars and sax, Alon Ilsar on drums and percussion and Danny Pliner on keyboards.
