Dotted through Sydney’s Inner West is an array of mysteriously tiny parks.
Often sited on housing blocks, these miniscule public spaces are puzzlingly small and sometimes under-utilised by their local communities. Over three afternoons, Micro Parks invites you to experience some of Australia’s most exciting visual and performing artists transform four of these parks.
Artists including Martin del Amo with Julie-Anne Long, Kate Mitchell, Sarah Goffman and Jess Olivieri with the Parachutes for Ladies create suburban dance odysseys, surprising installations and heroic durational performances in these petite places.
Parks are situated throughout Newtown and Erskineville, pick up a map from the Micro Parks station at Carriageworks and embark on a self-guided tour through the surrounding neighbourhood.
