The University Art Gallery houses the University of Sydney Art Collection which includes more than 3,000 paintings, sculptures and works on paper by Australian, Asian and European artists. The University Art Gallery showcases changing exhibitions of works from the collection as well as high quality exhibitions of both contemporary and historical works. All are open to the public and entrance is free.

The Gallery is located in the Main Quadrangle on the Camperdown (main) campus of the University of Sydney, a few kilometres from the centre of Sydney.

The University Art Gallery is the starting point for Vision in Motion.

Events at University Art Gallery

Neither the University Art Gallery nor Vision in Motion have full wheelchair access.

For accessible parking and drop-offs, go to University Place outside the Main Quadrangle. Parking is available outside the entrance to the Great Hall. Further accessible parking is available in the parking area at the southern end of the Quadrangle (situated between University Place and Manning Road; grid reference 17G); and at the eastern end of Science Road. Science Road is accessible from Western Avenue and the Ross Street Gate, Glebe.

We recommend that patrons using wheelchairs do not use the Law School car park, as there's no fast and direct access to the Nicholson Museum from this parking zone. The best options for accessible parking are the two clearly signed accessible car parks at University Place (outside the Great Hall) and in the parking area at the Southern end of the Quadrangle. If these spots are taken by other visitors there is comparable parking available at the eastern end of Science Road, which is accessible by vehicle from Western Avenue and the Ross Street Gate, Glebe.

Parking on university grounds is free to all patrons displaying a current Mobility Parking Scheme card (previously know as Disabled Parking Permit).

Public Transport
Train - the closest train stations are Central (patrons can then catch a bus or walk up Broadway and turn left onto City Road) or Redfern (patrons can walk to the University via Lawson Street, Abercrombie Street and Codrington Street).

The closest bus stops are on Parramatta Road at the corner of the University and Victoria Park, or at the Footbridge. (buses 412, 413, 435, 438, 440, 461, 480 & 483)
