TERROR NULLIUS: a flip fiascophonic antidote to the ordinary excess of nationalistic tokenism, rendered radically by some of Sydney's most flamboyant provocateurs. All in the sumptuous surrounds of the Famous Spiegeltent - history's haven for characters more concerned with UNIVERSAL lives of love!
Friday 27 Jan : Wild At Heart with WOLF CALL Djs
Saturday 28 Jan : Kira Puru & The Bruise plus DJ Meem
Sunday 29 Jan : Kira Puru & The Bruise plus DJ Meem
Clairy Brown & the Bangin Rackettes
Fierce leading lady Clairy Browne and her harmonising girl group, The Bangin' Rackettes, have been tearing down the house at venues all over the country since 2009. The nine piece rhythm and blues big band's original songs take you through northern soul, jump blues, doo-wop, ska and gospel with influences ranging from Etta James, Tina Turner and Prince to D'Angelo and Salt n' Pepa.
The band recently launched their first 7" single, ‘She Plays Up To You', a moody, emerald green, envy-inspired ditty about that girl who just can't keep her hands off your man.
Little Egypt's Burlesque
With a cast of Sydney's sexiest musicians, a bump ‘n' grind of burlesque beauties, and a scorching soundtrack straight from the west coast of 1950s USA, Little Egypt's Burlesque is the excuse Sydney's been looking for to truly let its hair down.
'Wild At Heart'
After a sold out show last Winter in the underground of the Spanish Quarter, Holiday Sidewinder & Pia May (Bridezilla) are joined by Pete Kelly & Jasper Fenton (Decoder Ring, Domeyko/Gonzalez) once again for a night of Lynchian delight at The Famous Spiegeltent! Here they will perform renditions of memorable soundtrack titles from cult-classic films (Wild at Heart, Fire Walk With Me, Blue Velvet, Eraserhead) and the television series Twin Peaks. Before and after, WOLF CALL! DJs will spin some Strange Country, Rock 'n' Roll, Exotica and Ecclectica. All Vinyl.
Kira Puru & The Bruise
A riot of guitar licks that will take your clothes off for you, a rhythm section that's gets so far under your skin, you won't be able to tell it from your own pulse & a voice that beckons the power of the hundreds of dark, decomposing divas that have gone before.
