Tuba Skinny - Festival First Night

Saturday January 7, From 2.45pm

"Seeing them will leave you speechless...a team of friends who create not only a music of a bygone era, but also a very individual sound" - JASSDANCER

"...they've fallen from a scratchy old recording or appeared through a magic door" - BURLINGTON FREE PRESS

Formed on the streets of New Orleans, Tuba Skinny performs old blues and Dixieland jazz from the 1920s and 30s. A band that takes its listeners back in time, Tuba Skinny combines brassy swing with the unmistakably raspy vocals of Erika Lewis who belts it out like Mae West. Just at home on a street corner as they are in a smoky club, Tuba Skinny will bring a joyful swagger to First Night festivities.
