The Dynamites featuring Charles Walker - Beck's Festival Bar
With I Like It Like That Orchestra & Russ Dewbury (Jazz Rooms)
Old school soul performer, Charles Walker, cut his teeth in New York's legendary Apollo Theatre in its 1960s heyday, opening for the likes of James Brown, Etta James and Wilson Pickett.
Now at the helm of Nashville's The Dynamites, the band fuses old and new to create irresistibly fresh funk and soul music with the authenticity of the great bands of the 60s. On stage, the band cuts a dashing sight with slick suits and suave moves. Expect an exhilarating live show to open the Beck's Festival Bar proceedings.
The eleven piece, I Like It Like That Orchestra featuring guest vocalists Eddie Ignacio, Carlos Velazquez and Merenia Gillies, will conquer the dance floor with an explosive set of Brazilian beats, Latin soul and funk. Be it 1970's Rio, Havana or New York, or Sydney in 2011 this collective will deliver the full Latin heat.
Plus Hot Grits DJ Stevie G.
