With a cut-and-paste aesthetic, The Books’ Nick Zammuto and Paul de Jong have perfected the audio collage. Combining found sound with lyrics and a traditional song structure, The Books create a brand of cinematic folktronica that is irrefutably their own.

Delving into their vast digital library containing tens of thousands of audio and video samples, they use computer software and ragtag equipment to manipulate snippets of dialogue from field recordings, home movies, TV, film and hypnotherapy cassettes. Layering these with their live vocals, guitar, cello and mesmerising video projections, The Books create a truly immersive electro-acoustic live experience.
