‘The grimy booze-sodden blues of Tom Waits, the woozy widescreen drama of Portishead, the moody piano-bothering of Debussy and above all Watson’s mercurial vocals.’ - NME
Hailing from Montreal, Patrick Watson’s transcendent Jeff Buckley-esque falsetto and exquisite, filmic soundscapes have garnered him critical acclaim and an exponentially growing fanbase.
Watson’s debut album took out Canada’s prestigious Polaris Prize in 2007 ahead of Arcade Fire and Feist, and he has since lent his ethereal vocals to the The Cinematic Orchestra song ‘To Build A Home’.
Revered for his spellbinding live performances, Watson is joined for his Sydney debut by Simon Angell on ukulele, banjo and lead guitar, Mishka Stein on bass and Robbie Kuster on percussion. Together they craft a dreamlike soundtrack to accompany Watson’s sweet, yet raw and world-weary voice.
