Continuing the party well into the night, Sydney Festival’s Late at the Garden plays host to some of the most creative, innovative and explosive underground and independent bands around, all right at home in the lush surrounds of The Famous Spiegeltent.

Resident DJ Meem spins an eclectic mix of party tunes from boogie to swing, hillbilly to jazz and jump blues to soul Thursday-Sunday nights 'til late.

Entry to the Garden is free however capacity is limited and subject to availability at all times.

12, 13, 14 January
Free from 11.30pm: Mojo Juju & The Snake Oil Merchants
– enigmatic and mysterious, and sure to cause mischief and mayhem, be prepared as this merry mob entrance and enchant with their rollicking vaudeville and gypsy jazz.

15, 16 January
Free from 11.30pm: King Tide
– renown for their explosive concoction of rock steady beats, reggae, pop and ska, Kingtide’s powerful and infectious live performance is sure to have the dance floor jumping.

19, 20, 21 January
Free from 11.30pm: Juke Baritone
– performing a bent mix of music, theatre and cabaret that's shaken into a dark cocktail of trapeze punk and pirate blues mayhem, Juke Baritone delivers songs about love and life in his signature growl.

22, 23 January
Free from 11.30pm: Hermitude
– combining Cuban-influenced rhythms and dark melodies with jungle drums and formal jazz training, Hermitude deliver an engaging and innovative live show full of progressive hip-hop sounds.

25, 27, 28 January
Free from 11.30pm: Cuthbert and the Nightwalkers
– creating exuberant indie-pop filled with charming and memorable melodies and heavenly vocals, Cuthbert and the Nightwalkers is fronted by part-circus ringleader, part-storyteller Richie Cuthbert.

29, 30 January
Free from 11.30pm: The Suitcase Royale
– with a collection of warped and broken tunes and swampy dancehall songs, this Melbourne-based trio hit the stage for two wild nights of music and madness – dance floor participation is a must!
