“The serious, lyrical, consistent approach, the radiance of the sound and the passion shown throughout, are a revelation” - Le Monde de la Musique

Join us for an exhilarating journey through a variety of sound worlds and periods with France's acclaimed Diotima String Quartet.

Alongside an impressive classical repertoire, Diotima play great music for string quartet of the late 20th century. The result is performances of great range and virtuosity, with programs juxtaposing European classical repertoire with bold new commissions.

Diotima is a string quartet formed by graduates of the Paris and Lyon Conservatoires. From the outset Diotima have been performing internationally and have appeared at many major concert venues and music festivals across Europe including Cité de la Musique, Opéra Bastille and Festival d'Automne in Paris, Konzerthaus Berlin, Kunstfest Weimar, Mozarteum Salzburg, Gulbenkian Auditorium Lisbon, MITO Settembre Musica, Auditorio Nacional Madrid, and the festivals of Aldeburgh, Helsinki and Athens.  Concert tours have taken them to USA, Central and South America, Japan, China and Korea.
