Raymond Crowe brings magic to Festival First Night

Raymond Crowe brought a touch of magic to Festival First Night last Saturday as his astounding and intricate hand shadows of the Louis Armstrong classic "What a Wonderful World" were projected onto the top five stories of the Law Court Building in Sydney's CBD, as well as the big screens across The Domain. The capacity crowd were wowed by his emotive performance, the perfect precursor to Al Green’s first ever Australian performance.

Raymond Crowe is Australia's master of intricate shadow puppetry, dancing jackets, ventriloquism and world class magic. He has appeared on The Tonight Show with David Letterman and in front of the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance in London.

Raymond's signature hand shadow piece to "What a Wonderful World" is an internet phenomenon, with over 1 million views worldwide, and it was a pleasure to have him perform as part of Festival First Night 2010.
