With The Sydney Symphony Conductor: Paul Kildea
Sponsored by The Daily Telegraph and ANZ
Symphony in The Domain is one of Sydney’s favourite ways to spend a summer evening. This year, conductor Paul Kildea celebrates the music of brilliant American composer Leonard Bernstein in a vivacious program showing his genius across a range of music styles.
Unafraid of broad popularity, and always open to new adventures, Bernstein inspired a new generation of boundary-free composers, including many Australians. The second half showcases new Australian compositions for orchestra as Symphony in The Domain again introduces music lovers to a new generation of composers gaining attention on the world stage.
Finally, of course, the 1812 Overture completes another glorious night under the stars.
