Bear Witness is a media artist, DJ and film editor based in Ottawa, Canada. Bear explores stereotypical representations of Aboriginal people in North American media and popular culture, re-editing these images to create new narratives representing his experiences as an urban Aboriginal artist.

Bear Witness is the inaugural artist for the Urban Indigenous Artist Exchange Program, a 3 year partnership with Canada Council for the Arts, Arts NSW, Parramatta City Council and Parramatta Artists Studios. Parramatta Artist Studios in association with Sydney Festival present The Only Good NDN (Indian) which is the result from Bear's 3 month residency at the Studios.
