SHAUN PARKER PROJECTS
DESCRIPTION
Led by Artistic Director Shaun Parker, Shaun Parker Projects creates highly physical contemporary dance theatre, music/dance theatre and dance/film performances which reflect the questioning inherent of a 21st century society. Parker's works have toured to Europe, Asia, New Zealand and throughout Australia. Shaun Parker Projects makes work that is accessible to a broad audience and the truthful, universal nature of the work makes people think, feel and quite often laugh.
FESTIVAL FIRST NIGHT WORK
The “Nonette” scene which will be performed at Festival First Night is a teaser from a new major dance theatre music work by Shaun Parker, ENNEA, which is still in creative development. ENNEA takes its lead from the investigation of happiness. Highly physical contemporary dance and movement accentuated by a vibrant electro/acoustic score from Nick Wales and Bree van Reyk convey the narrative, based on the nine personality types found within the ENNEAgram.
