DJ Mehdi
Another notch in the Ed Banger Records’ belt, DJ Mehdi fits in the team like a match made in heaven. Mehdi certainly hasn’t let the grass grow under his feet, releasing two albums and remixing for our homebody Sam Sparro, as well as David Rubato, Busy P, Ghostface Killah and Steel Lord. Another favourite from Paris, Mehdi is mixing hip hop and electro; and is definitely more than just somebody.
Busy P![]()
With a following that rivals any rock star, the iconic Busy P may be considered the modern Messiah of electronic dance-music, and not just because he looks a lot like Jesus. With his fingers firmly in the Ed Banger and Justice pies, this cooler-than-cool Frenchman still finds time to drop some pretty fly tracks, with his recent collaboration with Murs on To Protect and Entertain, a sure-fire Summer hit and the perfect follow-up to his must have 2007 EP, Rainbow Man.
Mission Control![]()
Describing their sound as “psych rock meets pounding drums meets shimmering noise”, up-and-coming Australian band Mission Control hail from Melbourne. Offering spacey electronic sounds, this set is guaranteed to be high-energy and high-impact.
Jaime Doom & Gus Da Hoodrat![]()
Stars of the local dance scene, DJs Jaime Doom and Gus da Hoodrat will be pumping out their unique sound. Regulars around Sydney, catching Doom and Hoodrat at Macquarie Street is sure to be a whole new experience.
Fuzzy are also programming the College Street stage. Click here for more info.
PHILLIP STREET & KING STREET
PROMISE – an Illuminart by Cindi Drennan
Projecting sounds, light and images on specially constructed ‘light sails’ made using recycled wedding dress fabrics, Promise lights up the urban landscape at the junction of Phillip & King Streets.
Promise is a twin lumineux (light sculptures) created of recycled fabrics over a flexible framework. At night sounds, light and images are projected into the space to create an unique, enveloping experience.
Some words from Cindi:
"Heal the hurt of promises broken
Celebrate the trust created by promise kept
Promise to give the best of yourself to life and to our world"
We perceive the world around us through Light and Form, and speak of a change in perception as the dawning of new understanding. In my work I aspire to shed new light on things, through revelations of form in poetic light, structure and illusion, in balanced harmony with the environment.”
