Uber Lingua Presents
Back for 2009, Uber Lingua, a movement of multilingual DJs, VJs, MCs and musicians, will again create a maze of global sound and vision winding around the Angel Place and Ash Street laneways.
Over four stages the Uber Lingua crew host local and international acts including:
Filastine (Spain/US)![]()
Spanish based American born composer/DJ who creates music and live sets that wreck genres, charting a new sonic map by synchronising mutated hip hop, smashed-up beats, and international obscura.
Maga Bo (Rio)
DJing and producing tracks with his portable laptop studio, Maga Bo fuses styles, sounds and location recordings from around the world to present skewed electronic beats that blend hip hop, ragga, breakbeat and jungle drum ‘n’ bass.
DuOud ![]()
North African born, Paris based musicians who prove that tradition and technology can mix and match to create a sound full of possibilities. Incorporating the traditional Oud with break beats, jazz and metal guitar this duo are pioneers of global / electronic fusion.
Son Of Kick & Mr Fish
French hip hop and electro turntablist duo.
Gong Baby
Traditional Indonesian percussion with a hip hop DJ.
Plus Hez, Sven Simulcram and the Uber Lingua Sound System comprising DJs bP & Mashy P, MCs Potato Master (Japan), Pochoman (Cuba) & Aysu C (Turkey) and video artists Siadatz and Square Eyes.
